If, for example, you start with our Helium plan, you can upgrade to Carbon or Titanium hosting plans. If you are on our Carbon plan, you can upgrade to Titanium. Our Client Centre will automatically calculate how much of the current plan you've paid for and put it towards the price of the new plan. The same thing works for upgrades within reseller hosting tiers.
How to upgrade or downgrade my hosting plan
- Login to the Client Centre
- Click on your hosting plan in the active services list
- Choose the "Change Plan" button
- Select the new service and complete the process.
Shared Hosting: Titanium is the highest tier.
Reseller Hosting: Reseller 3 is the highest tier.
If you need more resources than Titanium or Reseller 3, you will need to migrate to VPS Hosting. Please reach out and we can provide you with a quote for your own Virtual Private Server.
After you have started the upgrade process, if it indicates you must complete payment on a due invoice, you'll have to do as it asks, then come back and complete the upgrade or downgrade. A plan change occurring after a recently paid invoice will calculate the correct pro-rated amount and either create a new invoice for the amount owing or provide a credit on account for any overpaid amount).
Downgrade Tip: you must ensure your hosting plan can operate/fit within the new plan limits, which are shown on our website. For example, if you're downgrading from Titanium to Carbon, your entire hosting account must utilize less than Carbon's storage limit and each email account must fit within the per-email-account storage limit.
How to change my hosting plan configuration
For a Virtual Server (VPS) the configuration includes: CPU Cores, Disk Space, Memory, and Support Level
For shared hosting, the configuration refers primarily to the Support Level: DIY, Managed Troubleshooting, Hands-On Support
Here's how to change the configuration:
- Login to the Client Centre
- Click on your hosting plan in the active services list
- Under the Configuration box, click the edit button
- Select the new configuration and complete the process
Downgrade Tip: Before you downgrade the configuration of resources on a VPS, be sure to monitor your server's usage and ensure your server doesn't rely upon those resources.
Troubleshooting
If, after completing the upgrade and payment, you don't see the upgraded resources within Plesk within 10 minutes, open a ticket to have us take a look; your account might just need to be resynced/unlocked to the service plan.
Shared & Reseller Hosting: if the resource usage showing in the Client Centre hasn't yet updated, that's normal. It takes 24 hours to update its stats from Plesk.
