At the end of the connection process you receive an error about being unable to access the home directory Print

When this error appears, it means you are attempting to login using the wrong IP address or a hostname that doesn't point to the correct IP address.

For example, if your site is hosted on IP address 10.10.10.10 but for whatever reason you're using the wrong hostname to connect (like basil.websavers.ca, which points to a different IP address), then you will get the aforementioned error.

Normally using ftp.yourdomain.com will work. If you find this is not the case, please open a ticket so we can investigate. In the meantime you can use the IP address that your site is hosted on. You can find this by doing the following:

  1. Login to Plesk using our website at https://clients.websavers.ca and clicking on Hosting Options
  2. Choose Domains on the left and select the domain you are attempting to login to
  3. Choose either the "Setup" or "Web Hosting Settings" button usually within the "Hosting" section
  4. The IP address can be found at the top of this page. It looks like:

IP Address 69.93.239.226 Shared

This IP is for example only - make sure you use the IP provided by Plesk.
