How do I provide Websavers with access to Google Analytics and Search Console? Print

When we're undergoing an SEO campaign, Google Search Console and Google Analytics access is vital as it lets us better build your monthly reports as it gives us much more granular data on search statistics.

Note that these steps are only necessary if you already have your site connected to Google Search Console and/or Analytics. If you do not yet have your site connected, we can create this connection for you and gain access at the same time.

When you complete the steps below you'll arrive at a step asking you to enter an email address. If this access is being provided to fulfill an SEO campaign, please enter seoteam at websavers dot ca. If we're purely analyzing your traffic or troubleshooting issues unrelated to SEO, please use google at websavers dot ca.

Here's how to provide our SEO team access:

Google Analytics

  • In Google Analytics, head over to "Admin" (bottom of the left sidebar)
  • You'll then be presented with 3 columns - in the centre one, click on "Property Access Management"
  • Select the blue + in the top right
  • Select "Add Users"
  • Type in the email address we asked you to share access with
  • Select "Editor" as the role - this lets us add goal tracking and other relevant things, but doesn't let us manage users or anything we shouldn't
  • Click "Add" at the top right.

Google Search Console (formerly Webmaster Tools)

  • Head over to: https://search.google.com/search-console
  • On the left sidebar, at the bottom, select "Settings"
  • Select "Users and Permissions"
  • Select "Add User" Type in the address we asked you to share access with
  • Select "Full" for permissions
  • Select "Add"
