You receive an error when connecting to your server via FTP. The error text reads "550 SSL/TLS required on the control channel"
This error means your server requires the use of an encrypted connection for FTP to function. Most of our servers have been adjusted to require an encrypted connection as of Jan 1 2014, however some did not receive the update until March/April 2014.
Problem Resolution
The solution to this issue is normally quite simple: in your FTP application, look for the option to enable SSL or TLS. All other settings should remain exactly as they were configured before you received this error.
