Problem Description
In some cases, this bounce can mean that your DNS configuration is invalid. If you are using our Name Servers this is very unlikely to be the problem as we've configured your DNS records to the required specification, however if you're using a third party DNS server, then it's likely that your MX record configuration was set up wrong. Check with your DNS provider to ensure that the records are accurate.Problem Resolution
Check your DNS records and look for an MX record that points to an IP address. If you have one like that do the following:
- Save the IP address and priority number but remove the record
- Create a new A record called mail.yourdomain.com and point it to the IP address you just removed
- Create a new MX record with the same priority as before and point it to the new A record you just created: mail.yourdomain.com
- Save your DNS settings
That's it! Give it 24 hours for the updates to propagate globally and these bounces should now be halted.
