There are two different methods of accomplishing this. You can use tune-in links that allow your visitors to play your stream in their media player of choice, and/or you can embed an audio player in your website so visitors can play your stream directly from the website through their browser.
Tune-In Buttons
To place buttons on your website of your own design, you will only need the tune-in links for your anchor tags. You can find these links under the "Quick Links" option in the Centova Control Panel sidebar; look for "Tune In".
If you do not know how to create or configure the tune-in buttons yourself, then choose Code Snippets in the CentovaCast menu and scroll to the "Tune In" Section. Copy and paste the provided code to the section of your website where you would like it displayed. You can also direct your listeners to the built-in 'stream start page' provided by CentovaCast. To find this URL, login to CentovaCast and choose Quick Links on the left. The first link on the page is your stream start page.
Embedded Audio Player
Many people would prefer to have a player embedded in their website so their listeners don't need to click a link to play their stream in their favourite media application. There's a few different ways you can accomplish this:
1. Stream Start Page
This is the simplest way to make use of an embedded player. Your stream start page includes an embedded player called FFMP3. To access your stream start page, you can find the URL within CentovaCast under Quick Links - it's the first link on the page. Direct your visitors towards your stream start page and you'll have an already embedded player ready made for you. The one downside to using the stream start page is that the player is flash-only. It is not supported by many mobile devices, such as iOS (Apple iPhone, iPad, iPod).
2. jPlayer HTML5 & Flash Player
Our modified jPlayer HTML5 and Flash player is an open source player made to work smoothly with streams via both HTML5 and Flash. This means it is compatible with all known browsers and devices! For your convenience, we've included a code generator for it in our Client Centre. To embed it on your website, login to the Client Centre and click the Plan Details button for your radio hosting plan. Select the "Audio Player" tab to obtain the code to copy and paste into your website, wherever you would prefer the player be shown.
3. Third Party Players
There are three players that we know of that work well with Shoutcast or Icecast streams: Minicaster, Muses Audio Player (formerly FFMP3) and jPlayer. We do not support custom installations of any of these players, so proceed at your own risk. Here are the links to each player's website where you can find download and installation instructions. Please note that these players are listed in order of installation complexity. If you are unable to install a player, we are not able to provide support for this and you will be required to use one of the above two supported options.
