Problem Description

  • During a backup you receive the error: Unable to back up application. Error: Failed to parse metadata

Problem Resolution

If you *are* using the Plesk application catalogue and/or Plesk Toolkit, then follow the steps in the Plesk knowledgebase here.

If you are not using the Plesk application catalogue and/or Plesk Toolkit (you use Installatron / 1-click web apps instead), follow these steps in Plesk:

  • Tools & Settings > Database Servers > Small icon on far right of "Maria DB" line
  • Select the apsc database
  • Look for the aps_package table in the list and select "Empty" beside it.
  • Uncheck "Enable Foreign Key Checks" option
  • Click OK

This will clear the old entries in the app catalogue that we don't need.
