Sending email from Gmail results in Message not delivered notification Print

  • 0

Problem Description

  • You have an email account hosted with Websavers that you are accessing through Gmail webmail at gmail.com.
  • When sending emails at gmail.com using the 'send mail as' feature, you get an error saying: "Message not delivered. You're sending this from a different address or alias using the 'Send mail as' feature. The settings for your 'Send mail as' account are misconfigured or out of date."

Problem Resolution

To remedy this you must re-set your SMTP settings in Gmail. Here's how:

  1. Login to Gmail.com
  2. Go to your Gmail settings by clicking on the cog icon in the upper right corner and selecting "See all settings"
  3. Click on the Accounts and Import tab
  4. Under the Send mail as section look for your Websavers hosted email account and click the "edit info" link on the right.
  5. Where indicated make sure the settings match our Gmail configuration guide (go to Step 3).

Note that your username must be your full Websavers hosted email address and not your Gmail address, and the password must also be the one for your Websavers hosted email address and not your Gmail password.
