You may receive one of the following notifications by email:
The validity period of domain '[domain]', owned by user account '[username]' (Contact name '[name]') has expired.
or
The validity period of domain '[domain]', owned by user account '[username]' (Contact name '[name]') is about to expire.
When Plesk indicates that your domain is expired or is about to expire, it is not referring to your domain name registration, although it is possible that your domain name registration may be up for renewal as well (you can double check on your domain name registration within our client centre if you've registered the name with us).
Solution:
When a domain is created in Plesk, the domain often defaults to a 1 year expiry period and although there is an option to set the hosting to never expire, it can be easily overlooked. To fix this, you will need to specify a new expiry date or set the domain to never expire. To proceed, complete the following steps:
- Login to Plesk via the client centre
- Select "Domains" then choose the domain for which you received the above notification
- Click the "Resource Usage" (or Limits) button
- When you scroll to the very bottom, you will be presented with the option to set the domain to "Never Expire" or set it to another date in the future. Pick either option then click OK.
If your domain has expired already, then you will need to unsuspend it as well. After completing the steps above, you should now be presented with the domain status details at the top of the page. Choose the option to unsuspend the domain and your site will become active again within five minutes.
