How to deactivate SiteJet on a domain Print

  • 0

Problem Description

You activated SiteJet in Plesk to test it, but don't actually wish to proceed with it. How can it be disabled?

Problem Resolution

If you haven't actually pressed publish on your site in the SiteJet builder UI, no files are created in your hosting account with us, so you should not need to do anything to remove SiteJet.

When a site is published with SiteJet, it seamlessly transfers the necessary files that the SiteJet builder outputs to your domain's web root folder. To deactivate SiteJet, you will need to remove the files that SiteJet created:

  1. Login to Plesk
  2. Use the Plesk File Manager and locate your web root folder
  3. If you didn't have a website previously installed to the domain, you can simply remove all the files in the web root folder
  4. If you did have a website previously installed to the domain, you will need to identify which files belong that that web app and remove the remaining files. For example, if you had WordPress installed, do not remove index.php, .htaccess, or any of the files or folders that begin with wp-, and remove everything else.

These steps will deactivate SiteJet on your domain. Plesk may still show SiteJet as activated, even though it will not be. We're working on having Plesk provide an option to clearly no longer show SiteJet as activated.
