Gmail says it couldn't verify that you actually sent this message (and not a spammer). Print

Problem Description

You send an email from a server hosted by us to a Gmail or Google Apps for Business hosted email address and it indicates that it couldn't verify that you actually sent this message (and not a spammer).

Problem Resolution

This message is shown in Gmail because your SPF record is not configured to allow the server that sent the email to send emails on behalf of your domain. To resolve this you could:

1. Configure whatever application is sending the email to send through your email provider's servers. For example if you're using Google Apps for Business for email, but sending emails from WordPress, you can configure WordPress to send using SMTP rather than directly from the local server. See the section entitled "Non-Local Email" here for more details.

2. Configure your SPF record to allow the server to send emails. If you are using a dedicated server or VPS, add +ip4:{your_server_ip} to your SPF record. If you're using a shared hosting account with us, then add the following to your SPF record: include:_spf.websavers.ca
